In particular, students who need to strengthen their background in chemical engineering may be assigned the following courses as mandatory requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Engineering Properties of Food<\/strong> \u2013 5 ECTS (to be completed during the first year)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Food Packaging Materials<\/strong> \u2013 5 ECTS (to be completed during the second year)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These curricular integrations must be completed according to the procedures defined by the Admissions Committee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Further details on minimum requirements and admission criteria are available in the <a href=\"https:\/\/onlineservices.polimi.it\/manifesti\/manifesti\/controller\/extra\/RegolamentoPublic.do?jaf_currentWFID=main&amp;EVN_DEFAULT=evento&amp;aa=2025&amp;k_corso_la=548&amp;lang=EN\">Study Programme\u2019s Educational Rules<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Application procedure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply for the Master of Science in Food Engineering, candidates must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>hold a <strong>Bachelor\u2019s degree<\/strong> or an equivalent qualification recognized as suitable (applications can also be submitted by students who are about to graduate, provided that the degree is obtained within the enrolment deadlines);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>provide a <strong>certificate of English language proficiency<\/strong>, in accordance with Politecnico\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polimi.it\/en\/students\/language-requirements\">language requirements<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>submit the <strong>application within the deadlines<\/strong> established by Politecnico.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Application procedures and deadlines are published on the Politecnico\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.polimi.it\/en\/prospective-students\">admissions portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admission is based on a <strong>formal evaluation of the application<\/strong>, carried out by the faculty members of the admissions committee. The evaluation considers several elements, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the candidate\u2019s previous academic background;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the consistency of the preparation with the programme\u2019s learning objectives;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>any additional experiences, such as work experience, internships, study periods abroad, or extracurricular
